Aqeel and Ebony decided to form Vampin Vintage as a business because they have a passion for art, and thrifting. Vampin' Vintage is a way to showcase and share their eclectic style & talent with the world.

DESIGN DIRECTOR

Aqeel has always been a creative individual. He began drawing at the age of eight, and then was pertinent to the growth and expansion of Hip-Hop music through its formative years, by songwriting and music production which began at the age of 14, and throughout his adult life. He later returned to his first love, Art and started to "revamp" old clothing for family and friends. He loved to thrift and find old clothing and items to use as a medium to show his creativity. In 2019, Aqeel revamped an old black jean jacket for his son, Naseem with a painting of an anime character that brought a lot of attention and compliments to his son. That's when the idea of revamping clothing as a business began. He created the name "Vampin' Vintage" to reflect his passion for both art and thrifting.

SUSTAINABILITY DIRECTOR

Ebony owned a daycare center from 2009 to 2020. While Ebony loved her daycare children, she also had a passion for thrifting as well. She would purchase several eclectic items, and would keep them as decoration or conversation pieces around the house. She would collect ceramics, and dolls...glass and crystal. In early 2020, Ebony was forced to close her daycare center due to The Pandemic and the shutdown. She began volunteering at a vintage shop in her neighborhood, and realized that she loved it. Ebony decided to take her thrifting from a hobby to a business.
